Toy Investigation

for the last few weeks have been doing a toy investigation but today we tried to figure out the maths in the toys…

i found there was many maths including in the investigation  like size, addition, measurement, counting, perimeter and area.

Teamwork

imageTeamwork is about working in a team and cooperating with others and is a very important skill everyone needs to know, here are some skill to to do teamwork better:

•Persistance

•resilience

•working cooperatively

•use nice tone of voice

•being nice and friendly

•listning well

•respect other people’s ideas

•not getting distracted

All of the following are important but some are more important then others, like Persistance other wise you will find that sooner in life you will find life hard.

Together

Everyone

Achieves

More

Here is a amazing quote about teamwork:

Alone we can do so little together we can do so much.

Legends of darkness

Legends of darkness

I stumbled into a dark misty hall through one of the slide like falmer holes.I didn’t know what my name was it was never known to me. So I looked around my surroundings, it was dark but I could breath the air and surprisingly it was fresh considering how far down I was, anyway as I was saying it was dark and misty and could see anything but shiny glint of green light. I took a few cautious steps closer to the glint of green and then I realised it was the whole point I came down here for, the emerald claw. “I found it I can’t believe I found I’ll be a trillionair once I get back to the surface” but then I mumbled “but wait how do I get out”.

So I was probably stuck down here for eternity, “great” I thought in my mind. Then I saw a fiery light and a dark passage I walked carefully to the passage well what I thought was a passage and walked through it and then suddenly I was hit over the head and knocked out. I woke up to a shadow master in my face I was startled but luckily shadow masters are blind but staying underground for hundreds of years increased there hearing and scent. Moving swiftly I pushed him off the ledge he was standing next to and I thought my life couldn’t get any worse.

Well my life just got worse a large shadow master stood by me and then suddenly turned and smashed me to the ground, I picked up the nearest torch and and hit over the head causing him to convert to fire and was submitted to hell once I pushed him off the ledge as well. I ran down a passage way completely eternally contaminated by vines, almost as soon as a tried to get into the passage I slipped and sprained my ankle. “Ahhh! That hurts” I screamed and more shadow masters picked up my noise and surrounded me like I was a shop selling platinum, gold and diamonds for free. I tried to muffle every noise that was coming from me but it was know use they captured me and knocked and knocked me out.

I found myself once again in another of a shadow masters lair. I quickly reacted to what I saw and I kicked the shadow master into his own sword and he stabbed himself right through his chest and almost instantly he died. I swiftly hid the body under some vines and moss and stole his arrows and bow. I lit the end of the arrow on fire on a torch a shot the arrow at a large wooden structure with heaps of shadow masters on it and the structure quickly lit on fire and shadow masters a very susceptible to fire and I’m pretty sure they are all now no more then a crisp. I started to run down the track of moss and I accidentally tripped and went flying over a cliff.

“Uggh” I groaned and I thought I was dead I tried to lift my head but almost instantly as I did I felt sick, I let my head fall and I fainted. “Get up” a dry voice said and I almost jumped out of my skin “Get up!” He said at me, louder than the original one I opened my eyes to see a middle aged man with a ragged shirt on he helped me up started talking to me and many personal questions like “why are you here” and “what have you got” and just simply replied ” I need to get out of here”. “Follow me” he suddenly said, and after a hours walk we found daylight “go ahead” he said. But the daylight I found wasn’t exactly what I wanted since it was through a large gutter in a middle of a occupied fort, “you cem ere” said a bandit ” gimme ya money” “no and no” i said to him and slowly walked backwards a jabbed his sword towards me “you ain’t moven” . As soon as he got closer and when he lowered his weapon I ran.

I ran up a staircase and took my bow of my shoulder and shot a very well aimed arrow. “Thud” it went into his chest plate and i knew some one would sound a alert. I swiftly ran to the exit and ran away from the fort into a forest. I was definitely not ready for what was in there, there was about 10 lions in the forest and I barely even got through and i found a village and sold the claw to a very rich merchant and became rich and I thought how many times I could of died during away from the land.

Orienteering

Me Harry and Lachlan were in a awesome group at Tony Clark reserve and were walking through the pine forest finding the orange flags. I could smell the pine needles and could see them and finally we found the last flag. I sprinted to the flag to stamp down the spikes into the paper but I fell over onto the ground. I didn’t hurt myself  and felt the ground and got a little dirt in my mouth but I got up and stamped the spikes. I quickly ran to Miss John and she checked our time.

Human and natural forces that change the earth

Internal forces

Internal forces are forces that are caused by the tectonic plates unlike external forces which is caused by time and weather. Tectonic plates are pieces of rock under the earth, they cause earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, earthquakes cause tsunamis and volcanic eruptions cause new land. Lots of earthquakes cause on a fault line which is where to plates are connected. When plates push together one plate goes up and the other moves down or both go up and make mountains when one goes up and none goes down a earthquake occurs. All the plates are like a jig-saw puzzle, and the reason why Australia has no volcanos and not many earthquakes is because the is no fault line that runs through Australia. A volcano is caused by the plates to, when a volcano is on fault line and the plates push together hot magma pushes up the volcano and shoots everywhere around the volcano the magma which is now lava sets hard and makes new land. Tsunamis occur by when a plate pushes up under water pushing and forcing the water onto the land and makes destruction. Some mountains occur by both plates push up and forcing the land up to make mountain ranges. Some earthquakes can cause mass destruction some so silent that you can sleep through them, if the magnitude was ten that would cause destruction and if it was minus ten you wouldn’t notice it. Some volcanos burn everything in range some just dribble little bits lava under the ground is called magma lava above the ground is called lava.

human impact

Humans have impacted our earth in many different ways. Over the years the Impact has been both positive and negative.
Here are a few examples of the negatives, humans have been mining and sending unfriendly gases into the atmosphere and causing global warming, they have digging huge holes in the ground and chucking junk and rubbish in there then filling it up again.
Deforestation
People have been deforesting the Earth for thousands of years, primarily to clear land for crops or livestock. Although tropical forests are largely confined to developing countries, they aren’t just meeting local or national needs.

External forces

Did you know that there are two different different types of forces that change the Earth’s surface? The different types of forces are called internal and external. The four types of external forces are called wind, water, ice and gravity. Internal forces are forces like tectonic plates under the ground that that create volcanic eruptions.

Microbursts are great forces of wind that can reach up to 160 kilometres per hour, microburst can severely damage trees and can endanger planes instead of sucking in wind like a tornado it pushes wind away that is why a microburst is the opposite of a tornado. There are two different types of microbursts:a dry microburst and a wet microburst thus both are dangerous.

Super Moon

A super moon is a moon that is closest to the earth, the moon does not orbit the earth in a perfect circle,it orbits in a oval when it is closest it is call a super moon, when it is farthest it is called a micro moon.

Internal forces are forces that are caused by the tectonic plates unlike external forces which is caused by time and weather. Day and night

image

Day and night occurs by the rotating earth not the sun the earth rotates the sun every 24 hours and for those who think day and night occurs by the moon you are wrong. The earth is half light and half dark all the time, this is caused by the sun. One half of the earth is facing the sun and the other is facing into the universe, how ever the side that is dark is not completely dark, they have the moon. The reason the moon glows is because the light of the sun is facing the moon and light not the moon is reflecting onto the earth.
